Ms. DJ Nordquist is the World Bank Group Executive Director representing United States since September 21, 2019, after being confirmed unanimously by the United States Senate.
Ms. Nordquist has 25 years of experience in public policy and government. Prior to the World Bank, Ms. Nordquist served as Chief of Staff at the Council of Economic Advisers in the Executive Office of the President, a position she held since June 2017. Previously, she was Chief of Staff for the Economic Studies program at the Brookings Institution. She also served as Assistant Secretary (delegated authority) at the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, Senior Advisor in the Office of the Federal Coordinator for Gulf Coast Rebuilding, Deputy Chief of Staff at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and Deputy Assistant Secretary at the US Department of Education.
Prior to her federal service, Ms. Nordquist worked in the private sector in Thailand, France, and Sweden, and also worked at several think tanks. She began her career on Capitol Hill.
She holds a BA from Stanford University and an MSJ from Northwestern University. She speaks French, and has some knowledge of Italian and Thai.
