Jenn Jones is a senior policy strategist and social impact advocate who has spent over 20 years fighting to change norms, change policies and empower people to build equitable communities.
Jenn currently serves as the Chief of Staff at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), overseeing a staff of 8,000 employees dedicated to providing affordable housing for poor and working class people.
Prior to joining HUD, Jenn was the Chief of Membership & Policy for the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC), a 30-year old grassroots network of housing, community and economic development organizations advocating for racial and economic equity in low-and moderate-income neighborhoods. In this role, Jenn oversaw a staff of 20, comprised of NCRC’s organizing, membership, training, policy, and research divisions.
Prior to joining NCRC, Jenn spent eight years in various policy roles at HUD focused on neighborhood revitalization, public housing preservation, fair housing, economic mobility and integrated approaches to housing, health and community development.
In addition to work on economic equity, Jenn spent several years providing fundraising and communications consulting services to progressive advocacy and social service organizations tackling such issues as: LGBTQI equality, reproductive health, civil liberties and environmental protection.
