Mr. Hans Jörg Schelling is Minister of Finance of the Republic of Austria since September 1, 2014. Before heading the Ministry of Finance, Mr. Schelling served from 2009–2014 as Chairman of the Managing Board of the Association of Austrian Social Security Institutions. In addition, among others, he also served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Austrian Social Security Pension Fund from 2013-2014 and as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Volksbanken AG from 2012-2014. Mr. Schelling has extensive private sector experience. From 1992-2005 he served as Managing Director for XXXLutz (one of the major retail furniture companies in Austria) and from 2005–2008 as Managing Director for XLA GmbH. He was also a Member of the Supervisory Board of XXXLutz from 2005-2011. Earlier in his career, he worked as a University Assistant at the Department of Trade, Sales and Marketing at the University of Linz. Mr. Schelling graduated in Business Administration and earned a doctoral degree, both at the University of Linz.
