Ginny Alba is an indigenous woman from the Piratapuyo people, originally from Guainía, in the Colombian Amazon.
She is a lawyer and serves as Technical Secretary of the Human Rights Commission of Indigenous Peoples in the Organization of Indigenous Peoples of the Colombian Amazon (OPIAC).
Ginny has dedicated her work to defending the collective and territorial rights of indigenous peoples, combining her legal training with the ancestral wisdom of her community. She has been a firm advocate for indigenous women's leadership and a voice for justice, dignity, and the protection of life in the Amazon.
Her commitment transcends the borders of Colombia, and she actively participates in international spaces and forums, where she brings the Amazonian perspective to the global stage. She is also a member of the Global Steering Committee of the Tropical Forest Forever Facility (TFFF) for Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities, representing OPIAC.
