Francisco Gaetani has been Deputy Executive Secretary at the Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management since February 2008. He was previously Management Secretary from 2007 to 2008. He worked at UNDP (2003-07) as the Representative’s Adviser and UN Ambassador in Brazil. In 2005 he was in charge of the Government area of UNDP and, in 2006-07, was the General Coordinator of the UNDP Program in Brazil. In 2002, he was Forming Director at the School of Public Administration – ENAP and Director of the School of Government of Minas Gerais/João Pinheiro Foundation – JPF (1993-97). He was Academic Planning Adviser at the Federal University of Minas Gerais - UFMG (1990-93), Project Manager of JPF (1986-88), Planning Adviser of Vale do Rio Doce Company (1985-86) and Project Manager at the Secretariat for Employment and Social Action of Minas Gerais (1981-84). He graduated in Economics at UFMG (1980) and specialised in Municipal Planning (IBAM-1984), Administration (IEAD/COPPEAD-1985) and Public Management (ENAP-1988-1990). He holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Public Policies from the London School of Economics (1998), and a PhD in Public Administration also from LSE (2005).
