Elisabeth Mealey is the Communications Manager for Sustainable Development at the World Bank. In this role, she works with an expert team of communicators on topics ranging from climate change, to water and sanitation, to social inclusion, food and agriculture, and nature and landscapes.
She joined the World Bank in 2004, initially working in the Pacific Islands region but later moving to Washington DC where she worked in the East Asia and Pacific region on issues ranging from air quality in China to health and education in Cambodia and energy in Lao PDR. She then worked in the Bank’s Environment Department, Energy and Extractives Global Practice, and the Climate Change Group during which she represented the Bank at numerous COPs and climate summits.
Before joining the World Bank, Elisabeth worked at different times in Australia, Europe and the Pacific Islands as a journalist, speech writer and communications officer for civil society organizations. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland and a Master of Arts in International Communications from Macquarie University, Sydney.
