Ms. Elisabeth Gruber is Director of the Department for International Financial Institutions at the Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance. Before that, she was Senior Advisor in the same department responsible for the World Bank Group portfolio and working on issues related to multilateral development finance.
From 2008 to 2010 she served as Alternate Executive Director at the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, DC. Prior to this, she was dealing with policy issues of the Asian and the Inter-American Development Banks and in charge of multilateral debt relief at the Austrian Ministry of Finance. Before joining the Ministry, she worked for nine years as University Assistant at the Department of Economic Development at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. She graduated in Business Administration and holds a Doctoral Degree in Development Economics from the Vienna University of Economics and Business. She also earned a Diploma of International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University in Bologna, Italy.
