Dushni Weerakoon is the Executive Director of the Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka (IPS) and Head of its Macroeconomic Policy research. She has extensive experience working with the Government of Sri Lanka in public policy formulation and in an advisory capacity, including as an Appointed Member of the Monetary Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka and the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka. She has also served as a Director on the Boards of corporate and academic entities. Her research and publications cover macroeconomic policy, international economics and trade. She currently serves on the Editorial Boards of several international peer-reviewed journals and is the editor of the IPS’ annual flagship report on the Sri Lankan economy. She holds a BSc in Economics with First Class Honors from the Queen's University of Belfast, U.K., and an MA and PhD in Economics from the University of Manchester, U.K.
