Dave Beer has worked as a development and humanitarian practitioner since 2000 in a range of policy and operational positions, mostly in Africa. Before working as an advisor to the UK Executive Director to the World Bank, he led the UK Department for International Development’s (DFID) economic development work in Ghana, and before that was the Country Representative for DFID in Burundi. He has also worked for DFID, and for humanitarian and development NGOs, in the Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. Other roles have included policy work on the Occupied Palestinian Territories, and on EU Accession in the Balkans.
