Cyprian Chitundu has served since October 2011 as managing director of ZESCO Limited, a power utility company operating under the supervision of the Ministry of Mines, Energy and Water Development in Zambia, Central Africa.
Cyprian has extensive experience in engineering and management. In Zambia, he has worked at Zambia Consolidated Copper Mines, Kariba North Bank Company Limited and ZESCO Limited in Zambia. He also worked in Uganda between 2010 and 2011.
Cyprian has received several awards in his career due to his outstanding performance and dedication to duty, including the prestigious African Utility Executive of the Year awarded by African Utility and the Southern Africa Power Pool for his accomplishments within 2013 in the power utility industry. He has also been awarded the Best African Power Station Manager of the Year in 2005 for bringing excellence to the power industry in Africa.
Cyprian holds a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering in power systems and networks. He is also an alumnus of Harvard University’s Advanced Management Program.
