Bidya Pradhan is the Senior Atmospheric Environment Specialist at the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD). She joined the organization in 1999, and has worked extensively in the field of atmospheric pollution, coordinating the Atmospheric Brown Cloud Project and the Malé Declaration on Control and Prevention of Air Pollution and its likely Transboundary Effects for South Asia. Prior to joining ICIMOD, Ms Pradhan worked for the National Council for Science and Technology, Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu, and the Ministry of Science and Technology, Nepal. She has contributed to several environmental publications and was also involved in the preparation of the UN Environment Program’s Global Environment Outlook 3 and 4. Ms Pradhan holds two Master’s degrees in engineering— one in Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai, India, and the other in Environment Science and Technology from the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand.
