Bertrand De la Borde is the Global Industry Director of infrastructure at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank. As a member of IFC’s management team, Mr. De la Borde leads IFC investment operations and advisory services in the cities, telecommunications, media, technology, transportation, and waste and water sectors. He oversees a $14 billion debt and equity portfolio.
Mr. De la Borde brings close to 30 years of experience in infrastructure finance and has played a leading role in developing innovative and landmark public-private partnerships in all five continents. He joined IFC in 2007, following four years with Proparco, the French development agency, and 11 years with Société Générale in Paris, where he served as Managing Director and Head of Infrastructure Project Finance for Europe, Middle East, and Africa. From 2010 to 2018, he headed IFC’s Africa infrastructure team, which tripled its activity under his leadership. Mr. De la Borde comes to his current role after serving as Director of Global Energy and Mining at IFC.
