Dr. Aung Thura is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Thura Swiss, a Myanmar-based firm specialized in market research, consulting and investments with regards to Myanmar. Thura Swiss aims to equip both local and foreign businesses with accurate and sophisticated information in order to allow them to make strategic data-driven decisions. Dr. Aung Thura grew up and received his education in Switzerland. He holds a M.Sc. degree in mechanical engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich, a Masters’ degree in finance and a doctorate in banking and finance from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. Before founding Thura Swiss, Dr. Aung Thura worked for Swiss banks in different roles such as business development and investment banking. Dr. Aung Thura moved to Myanmar in 2012 with the aim of contributing to rebuilding the country. He regularly holds guest lectures in finance at the Myanmar National College, the Executive MBA program of the Yangon University of Economics. He is often interviewed by local and foreign media as an expert in investments and economic matters. Dr. Aung Thura is a member of the Executive Committee in the Union of Myanmar Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) and in the Myanmar Young Entrepreneurs Association (MYEA).
