Dr Asma Hyder is professor and dean School of Economics and Social Sciences at the Institute of Business Administration, Karachi. Dr Hyder has served as a visiting research fellow at several prestigious institutions including the University of Sussex, London School of Economics and Political Science, UK and Carleton University, Canada. Her research interests revolve around development issues with a specific focus on various labor market matters such as wage differentials, schooling, gender, health, and social wellbeing. While her work primarily revolves around addressing social issues in Pakistan, Dr. Hyder is also investigating the household behavior and preferences related to child schooling during and after economic and climatic shocks in extremely vulnerable and poorest societies of the world. Her regional interest extend to Southeast Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.
