Ms Åsa Wallendahl serves as Senior Adviser on the Rule of Law and Human Rights at the Department for Development Policy at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland. Ms Wallendahl advises the geographical and thematic units in charge of Finnish development aid on policy and implementation what regards Finnish support to the rule of law, human rights as well as issues relating to migration and development and conflict and fragility. Ms Wallendahl holds a Master of Social Sciences/International Law from Åbo Akademi University and has previously served at the Delegation of the European Union to Bolivia and at Finnish NGOs working on democracy and human rights. Ms Wallendahl has also previously been working in academia as research planning officer at the Centre of Excellence for Global Governance Research and the Erik Castrén Institute of International Law and Human Rights at University of Helsinki, Finland.
