Alexandra Bezeredi is a Lead Social Development Specialist in the Africa Region of the World Bank. Prior to her current assignment, she was the Regional Safeguards Advisor for Africa. She has also worked in the Operations Policy and Country Services, Environment, and Secretary’s departments of the Bank, focusing on environmental and social safeguards and institutional governance issues. She has worked at the Global Environmental Facility on environmental issues and was a diplomat with the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, serving in India, the United Nations (New York), and the USA (Washington, D.C.). She has a Bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Toronto, and a Master’s degree in Journalism and International Affairs from Columbia University.
