Abid Qaiyum Suleri has headed the Sustainable Development Policy Institute since 2007 and is editor-in-chief of its peer-reviewed Journal of Development Policy, Research, and Practice. His research interests include sustainable development, climate change, rural livelihoods, food security, and regional trade. Suleri is a member of the Pakistan prime minister’s National Economic Advisory Council, the advisory committee to the Planning Commission of Pakistan, and the government’s Trade Policy Advisory Committee. He represented Pakistan as a delegate to the UN Sustainable Development Summit, the UNFCCC Conference of Parties (COPs), and WTO ministerial conferences. Suleri earned a Ph.D in food security from University of Greenwich.
