Mina Al-Oraibi is a Yale World Fellow. She is journalist and political analyst focused on the Middle East, and was the Assistant Editor in Chief of Asharq Alawsat, the international daily pan-Arab newspaper for close to four years. From 2009-2011, she served as Washington D.C. Bureau Chief for Asharq Alawsat. She has covered the Geneva talks on Syria, Iraqi refugees and American and European foreign policies towards the Middle East and North Africa region. Mina has conducted many high profile interviews, including most recently with US President Barack Obama, US Secretary of State John Kerry, World Bank President Jim Kim, IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde, UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond and former Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki. She is also a regular guest contributor on television news programs including Dateline London for the BBC. Mina is a member of the Global Agenda Council on the Middle East and the International Media Council. She was named a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader in 2009.
