Luis Alberto Rodriguez was appointed Director of Colombia’s National Planning Department in August 2019. Prior to this he served as Technical Vice-Minister of Finance, the youngest person to hold this position in Colombia. Mr. Rodriguez is a former Chief Economist of the National Banking Institutions Association (Asobancaria) and also served as an economic advisor for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Colombia. He was a professor at both the University of Rosario and the National University of Colombia. Mr. Rodriguez holds a Masters in Economic Policy from Columbia University and previously studied economics at Colombia’s National University as well as the University of Toulouse in France.
