Discussing why she transitioned from entrepreneur to become a parliamentarian, @selimaahmad notes that without women's economic participation it's not possible to pull a country out of poverty, which is why it's important to have women in the parliament to work on policy and advocacy. @Mari_Pangestu says that #WomenBizLaw highlights areas for improvement post pandemic rebuild – there needs to be a gender lens across the board. She notes her concern at evidence that women are eating less as a result of crisis and are likely to lose jobs in informal sector. How do we ensure that cash flow programs also focus on women? She also notes that technology is very important as well as access to finance. How do we make sure that women have access to financing, and the financial literacy to use it? Also important is to make sure girls getting back to school, avoid the setback of lacking education. Educating girls contributes to poverty reduction. Rise in domestic violence an issue we need to address, make sure we have gender-based reporting and monitoring. The World Bank working across all these areas.
