Bangladesh's @selimaahmad: women needed access to finance. Beyond microfinance, women had fewer opportunities and lobbied for women to be able to obtain loans without collateral. Also, needed to build capacity to manage business. Lobbied to obtain funding for capacity building for women opportunities. If you can include women into entrepreneurship, that is best way to bring women into the mainstream, concludes @selimaahmad.

Bridget Dougherty of @BRACworld says legal barriers often prevent women from gaining access to formal financial assets. … only 34 percent of BRAC clients have bank accounts. Microfinance is filling a critical market gap in terms of access to finance. http://www.brac.net/
