Enrollment of children in schools from low income households is a challenge at the best of times In a scenario like this where they will have to sit at home what is the best method of engaging them? It is not always that parents can provide the support required and not everyone has access to audiovisual platforms

The focus to date has been on strengthening home learning & digital access both in HIC & LMIC. Yet, the reality for children & young adults with complex disabilities is that they require care assistance with feeding, dribbling, toileting etc alongside education programmes to develop their communication, cognitive, social & independence skills. How can special schools/resource centres & inclusive mainstream schools be supported to maintain support to this student population (& their families) within physical distance & health safety guidelines without turning away many families & compromising access & equity to education? Where is the financial support to encourage govt/INGO/district collaboration with technical specialists & practitioners such as school psychologists, school nurses, speech therapists, sensory advisors & social workers? It would be great to see a lasting legacy of covid19 in terms of better access & educational equity for children with disabilities internationally!

In many African countries a form of online learning has been set up. However, the majority of learners cannot access this. What should/can be done to ensure that when schools reopen both sets of learners get equal opportunities and come out of their schooling having similar skill sets?

Are parents involved in the teaching-learning process? if so, how will an illiterate parent guide his or her child to do a school task? Will that be an effective learning style?
