What is Africa's business proposition to the rest of the world? Other regions such as South Asia are likely to consider doing a similar thing and setup a free trade area too.

Africa needs to produce tradable goods and to avoid a trade structure which exacerbates inequalities between different nations. Currently the preponderance of low value commodities for exports to other continents is not helpful and does not include participation by most citizens in high value economic activities.

Two major fault lines were exposed by Covid-19; lack of a clear, standardised protocol to approach border closures during pandemics and similar shocks, and the importance of the acceleration of the digitization of the service sectors (health, tourism, finance, e-commerce etc.). How can we profit from the delay in starting the AfCFTA trading, to deal with these two points, as we prepare to enter into second phase of AfCFTA negotiations?
