We have a history of natural disasters, inequality and development struggles. The pandemic is one more major event on the record. With the technological and economic advancements we have made, what progress, if any, have we made in developing a collective (international) framework for combating the effects of majors events like this and to mitigate its consequences? It seems like we continue to talk about events like this from a rhetorical and reactionary prospective.
