Latin America is one of the most negatively impacted regions by COVID; however, most debt relief programs go to lower income IDA countries. What solution is the WBG providing for middle income countries in LAC in terms of debt relief?

Maybe they should start investing in countries instead of just lending to aid economic reform and support growth. In most cases countries are not able to adequately allocate the capital and most of it get wasted on consumption through e.g. corruption etc.

Prior to Covid-19, Debt overhang had adversely affected developing countries and suspension of debt payment will only be a temporary relief. How would the World Bank help developing countries to achieve a sustainable debt profile?
