@HafezGhanem_WB: As we look ahead, the continent is rebounding. Three factors are driving this rebound: First, containment policies are being reduced. Second, many export prices have improved. Third, most of our countries have put in place important reforms.

@HafezGhanem_WB: We need to ensure universal access to electricity and the internet in Africa. That is the only way that we can transform our economies and create the 1 million jobs every month that need to be created for African youth.

@ousmane_diagana: What we are observing today on the continent is the resilience of our economy and our people. Countries and policy makers have seen the crisis as an opportunity to pursue and deepen reform. This is why the rebound is happening relatively quickly. The Bank has also played an important role; the variety of support that we have provided has been crucial in protecting the livelihood of the people.

@ousmane_diagana:  We cannot lose sight of the sectors that have the potential to support Africa’s transformation: Support in digital, agriculture, energy and infrastructure programs has continued, and we hope that the speedy implementation of those programs will ensure that the rebound will be stronger and sustainable over time.
