"Latin America and the Caribbean have been hard-hit by the COVID pandemic. The Bank is supporting matters of food production and ensuring food security. We have to respond to short-term crisis as well as build resilience to the issue of climate change." @CF_Jaramillo #AMCSO20

It is a fact that the pandemic is pushing the poverty and inequality challenge. We have stimulus packages in our developing countries aimed at mitigating both debt and health implications. What is the World Bank doing to ensure that such stimulus packages are also addressing the plight of the vulnerable such as women and girls and also how civil society organisations can become more effective in demanding more accountability and transparency. How would it be to revisit best practices of development? Rather, their qualification appears to be their financial viability.

Zero Waste advocates are seeing an increasing recognition of sustainable waste management in a post covid recovery future but we also see the acceptance of incinerators or waste-to-energy projects that will only compromise many goals we have setforth including recycling, health and climate goals. Incinerators are excluded in EU Taxonomy of green activities --will WB follow these standards?
