Clearly we are seeing 2 lobbies being formed over LNG .Big names on both sides . So how do we ensure this divide is not counter productive?

Have the implications of the stranded assets in blue production, SMR and CCS, been calculated as a fuel cost rather than just an investment level?
Fri, 04/23/2021 - 07:20
Stephen Brown

Its really quite poor to suggest that LNG is a 'dead end'. It is the cleanest fuel today, mature, safe and globally available. Future fuels will take massive investment and time to mature. There are many challenges ahead and no certainty yet. Uptake of LNG now reduces emissions today, supports the Paris Agreement objective and paves the way for the emergence of future fuels later. Suggesting that the industry should not invest in LNG today delays decarbonisation!

Can you please explain your assumptions behind the statement that green methanol will be significantly more expensive than green methanol (supplied to the ship)

We will now transition into our first panel which will address how we can support countries’ energy transition through zero-carbon shipping. In this first panel, we will hear from Ms. Isabelle Durant (@Isabelle_Durant), the Acting Secretary General for the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), Mr. Mohamed Ouhmed (@aziz_rabbah), Director of Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency for Morocco and Mr. Max Correa (@MinEnergia), the Head of the Fuels and New Energy Division at the Chilean Ministry of Energy.
