As 2014 kicks off, global health and development leaders are increasingly engaged in discussion of the post-2015 development agenda and strategies to end extreme poverty and AIDS. This discussion included how to reframe the AIDS response so that it is comprehensive, in the context of broader global development goals.

On Jan. 9-10, 2014, the World Bank Group, UNAIDS and other partners hosted a conference to address intersectoral approaches to merge global development and HIV responses with broader goals for equitable and sustainable progress. The conference report served as a companion document to a future special issue of The Lancet, which will report outcomes of the UNAIDS and Lancet Commission on AIDS and Health.

The conference’s opening session, held on Jan. 9 from 9:15 to 11:00 am ET, was webcast live.
