During Social Media Week in Washington D.C. we gathered 4 panelists and more than 1,000 people online and offline to discuss how people are using social media sites to network and aspire to be entrepreneurs in developing countries.
A University of Maryland study recently found that Facebook's app economy contributed 182,000 new jobs and more than $12.19 billion in wages and benefits to the U.S. economy in 2011. Internationally, most people in developing countries will come online for the first time in their lives in the next 3-5 years, and they’ll do that via a mobile device, and a social media service.
