On June 9th, the Financial Times and IFC - a member of the World Bank Group and the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in developing countries, will host a major gathering of thought leaders in London ahead of the annual dinner honouring the winners of the FT/IFC Transformational Business Awards – global innovators whose capital, technology and ideas are helping solve the world’s most acute development challenges. This year, the conference will build on the momentum generated by COP21 to discuss the challenges around climate change in developing economies, particularly in urban areas, and the ground-breaking solutions that can address them. Chaired by senior FT journalists, the conference will share insights on the role the private sector can play in meeting the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular the targets around food security and health.
