Ms. Sandhya Rani Kanneganti is a senior civil servant and an Indian Postal Services officer. She is currently working as Postmaster General (Business Development & Technology), Andhra Pradesh. She held various challenging positions in the Department of Posts in AP, Delhi & Karnataka State. She is currently leading on enhancing financial inclusion and the implementation of the biometric authentication based disbursement of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme wages to over 8 million wage seekers and Social Security Pensions to 3 million pensioners through the post office network.
Sandhya worked on social policy and analysis as a Social Development Adviser, Department for International Development (DFID). Govt. of United Kingdom, providing strategic advice to Governments of West Bengal and Andhra Pradesh and monitoring implementation of several development projects funded by DFID. She consulted for International Labour Organisation (ILO) and evaluated their Child Labour and Bonded labour eradication programs in several States of India.
Sandhya worked as Regional Project Director and Program Director, Social Risk Management. She was the core member of the State Project Management Unit of Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP), Department of Rural Development, Government of Andhra Pradesh, implementing the World Bank funded AP District Poverty Initiatives Program & AP Rural Poverty Reduction program.
Sandhya holds a Master in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard University, Boston, Massachusetts. She also has a Masters in Political Science from University of Hyderabad. She is currently pursuing P.G. Diploma in Child Rights and Law at the National Law School, Bangalore.
In her free time Sandhya is associated with a couple of Non Governmental Organisations that work on enhancing access to education, sanitation and opportunities for with persons with disability. She loves reading, trekking, travelling & nature walking.
