Rana Jaafar Yasseen is an Iraqi poet who has written about how Gender-Based Violence has affected the women of her country. She was relocated to the Washington area as part of UNHCR’s refugee resettlement program. Ms. Yaseen has a passion for poetry, language and the arts in general, publishing several poetry collections and participating in art exhibitions. She has eight years of television production experience, including writing, editing, producing and presenting the content to the viewers. She attended the College of Engineering, Department of Architecture, Baghdad University in Iraq.
