Margaret Hempel

Margaret Hempel, Director for the Ford Foundation’s work on gender, sexuality and reproductive rights, previously served as vice president for programs at both the American Jewish World Service and the Ms. Foundation for Women. In the 1990s, she was program officer and then deputy director for the sexuality and reproductive rights work at Ford. She has an MPA in policy and demography from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University, and has lived in China and Myanmar.
