During his 30 years working in the energy sector, Mr. Fernández has held positions as Development Officer and International Division Officer of Gener, a Chilean utility, leading the teams that developed Puerto Ventanas S.A., Norgener S.A., Guacolda S.A., and Eléctrica de Santiago S.A. in Chile.

Mr. Fernández also led Gener’s team that evaluated and managed different privatization processes in Latin America, including Peru, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic.

Mr. Fernández played an important role in the gas interconnection project between Argentina and Chile, acting as head of the working team integrated by Gener, Nova, and Gasco, for roughly two years.

While working for SCL Energía, Mr. Fernández has been directly involved in the commercial development of a 380 MW gas combine cycle plant for PSEG and the acquisition of Termocandelaria S.A. ESP in Colombia.

Mr. Fernández is a member of the investment committee of AEF I and AEF II and a board member of AEF´s companies in Chile, Peru, and Colombia.

The asset value and generation capacity of the main projects developed or acquired under the direction of Mr. Fernández are in excess of US$3.5 billion and 7,700 MW.

Mr. Fernández has an Electrical Engineering degree from Universidad de Chile with postgraduate studies in Finance at Universidad Católica de Chile.

Mr. Fernandez is also Chairman of Fundación CRECER a NGO which provide microloans to people living in poverty.
