Gordon Brown

Special Envoy for Global Education, United Nations

Gordon Brown served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Labour Party from 2007 to 2010. As Prime Minister, Brown was one of the first to initiate calls for global financial action after the global financial crisis and introduced a range of rescue measures in the UK. Previously, he served as Chancellor of the Exchequer. Brown co-chairs (with Graça Machel) a High-Level Panel on global education and has authored a number of papers on education issues.
