Apps for Climate Competition: Expert Help Desk

The World Bank Apps for Climate competition is underway and the submission deadline of March 16, 2012 is quickly approaching.  World Bank climate data experts convened the expert help desk to answer questions about the competition, how to use the climate data APIs, or general questions about the recently released climate change data.  We would like to thank the over 190 people who attended the event online for all the wonderful questions!

Background information:
The World Bank Apps for Climate Competition aims to bring together the best ideas from scientists, application developers, civil society organizations, and development practitioners to create innovative apps using World Bank data. The competition challenges participants to develop software applications related to climate change. The apps could serve to raise awareness, measure progress, or help address development challenges of climate change. The app must also use one or more datasets from the World Bank Data Catalog available at data.worldbank.org or the Climate Change Knowledge Portal available at climateknowledgeportal.worldbank.org.

Applications will be selected and awarded as follows:
First Prize - $15,000 USD
Second Prize - $10,000 USD
Third Prize - $5,000 USD
Honorable Mentions (10) - $2,000 USD each
Popular Choice Award (1) - $5,000 USD
Large Organization Recognition Award (public acknowledgement)

I see that the Climate Data API is able to retrieve data in KML output. Is this possible for the regular indicator api calls? I plan on using some CO2 data, but the Climate DAta Api seems restricted to just Precipitation and Temperature. Or is CO2 data also available via the Climate Data API?
